2007 Summer School

ISC-PIF Summer School 2007

Paris, July 30-August 26, 2007.

A series of lectures in the first French Complex Systems Summer School will be held in Paris, July 30-August 26, 2007.

Registration for the school is now closed

The school will be divided into two independent parts:
  • "Advanced Thematic Introductions" will take place over the first two weeks of the event (July 30-August10). - These first days are devoted to theoretical courses whose aim is to provide in-depth reference lecture courses to a multi-disciplinary audience of researchers as well as advanced students in mathematics, physics and computer sciences. The lectures should take into account that not all prospective students are expected to be familiar with all the fields covered. The courses could treat of specific theoretical concepts and methods of complex systems.
  • "Theory and Practice", aimed at a younger audience (August 11 - August 26). These days are mainly dedicated to carrying a project whereby students will acquire practical experience in dealing with complex systems.

This new series of international Summer schools is coordinated by the French National Network on Complex Systems (RNSC). This year's event is organized by the Complex Systems Institute Paris-Ile de France (ISC PIF) and will take place in the heart of the Latin Quarter in Paris.

The aim of the school is to provide in-depth reference lecture courses to a multi-disciplinary audience of researchers as well as advanced students. The lectures will thus be "introductory-yet-advanced" since prospective students are not expected to be familiar with all the fields covered. They will thus treat of specific classes of complex systems or, transversally, of theoretical tools and methods.
